Ultimately, it’s all for the benefit of patients and driving meaningful change in the landscape of healthcare.
Our mission is to bridge the gap in healthcare by leveraging advanced AI technology to identify these patients, ensuring they receive timely and accurate diagnoses. We believe that every patient deserves a chance for better health outcomes, and by uncovering the unseen, we are committed to transforming the future of medical care and making a significant impact on public health.
By elucidating patient-disease insights, Volv Global empowers patients to be more active participants in their healthcare journey, enabling them to make informed decisions about their treatment options, improving patient advocacy and support, and fostering a better dialogue between patients and healthcare providers.
With an international team, Volv Global tackles hard-to-diagnose diseases around the world, operating with the principles of innovation, precision and discretion born of our Swiss headquarters.
Our watchwords are integrity, transparency and accountability. Diversity and fairness are essential in the ways we think and behave. We champion innovative, critical thinking as our super-power.
We prioritise data privacy and security, integrating it from the ground up in the development of our technology and services. We do not work with identifiable patient data, we do not ingest data.
Making the impossible a reality, every day
We believe in the power of creativity and the importance of thinking differently. At Volv Global, we embrace opposing ideas with a smile, finding joy in tackling the unsolvable. Thinking out loud isn’t just encouraged—it’s essential to our culture. By questioning everything, we refine our methods, drive constant innovation, and reinvent ourselves to make the seemingly impossible achievable.
We celebrate diversity in how we think and behave, recognising that every individual’s perspective matters. Critical thinking is our catalyst for growth—by consistently challenging the status quo, we uncover better ways of doing things. Our mission is fuelled by the collective insight of our team, because when every voice is heard, progress is endless. At Volv Global, we do what we do because the individual matters, and together, we turn the hopeless into the possible.

About Volv Global
Volv Global is a people-focussed healthcare company that helps every person get the right treatment options.
We are committed to making a difference in the lives of people living with diseases which have unmet needs or are difficult-to-diagnose.
As the COO at Volv Global my role is really to pay attention to my surroundings. Every day I focus on the job at hand but also have to remember to look up and see what’s going on in the company as a whole. Before joining Volv Global, I had a background running a UK based IT business for over 20 years, gaining a lot of necessary operational experience. As a result, I really dislike any form of superfluous business-speak!
I have witnessed the genesis of this business at my kitchen table, through the start-up phase, and now to the relative maturity of an SME. My singular goal is to build the business: make it function, communicate unambiguously, and hire people who are willing and enabled to speak their mind. I make sure Volv Global plays to its strengths, minimises its mistakes and takes corrective action quickly enough to keep going, because what we are doing is mind-bogglingly brilliant and a win-win healthcare business.
My cover photo is of a beautiful Dorset beach to remind me that choppiness in business always passes and you do occasionally get to hear the gentle lapping of waves!
My superpower: three-word summary.
I’m a certified translator. I have had the opportunity to live in different countries, fulfilling my passion for languages and cultures.
At Volv Global, I want to make sure that the day to day operations run smoothly.
My superpower is resilience
I have a Master’s degree in Mathematics from the University of Warwick, specialising in statistical analysis and modelling of dynamical systems. There, I worked on a novel method for measuring and enhancing the predictive power of climate models, which led me to join the World Meteorological Organization as a full-stack developer, where I built several tools to facilitate international data exchange.
I am dedicated to leveraging technology to solve complex, fascinating problems for the betterment of society – precisely the kind of problems that Volv is committed to solving.
My superpower is to be able to explain intricate concepts in a clear and engaging way that anyone can understand.
I am a biochemist and hold a M.Sc. degree in Neuroscience and a Ph.D. in life sciences, specialised in immuno-oncology. Following my academic journey, I worked as a healthcare consultant, to support pharmaceutical and med-tech companies in their business and innovation needs and challenges.
I am proud to work at Volv because of its people and culture, while we deliver meaningful outcomes that benefit real patients.
My superpower is that I am spoiler-proof – I forget every movie I watch!

My superpower is …
As the well-being of the team is of paramount importance, Otto can be relied upon to instill some fun in the day. He can be found in the office on most days, usually on the sunny spot on our sofa. He joined Volv as an integral member of the team during the summer of 2020. He is now joined by brothers Leni von Whippet and Sherwyn van Whippet. They will remain under close supervision by Otto.
By setting an example with his exemplary behaviour, social skills, and calm presence Otto ensures the team can perform at their best, with the least amount of stress. He can be relied upon to give anyone working in the office the perfect pause to play ball with him. Occasionally, he makes his presence felt on a Teams call too!
He is a German citizen, currently residing in Lausanne, Switzerland with his family. Outside of work, his time is spent with his family and other whippet friends especially Frida, chasing toboggans, sprinting after a ball, paddleboarding, and swimming.
Keeping up with the rapid growth of the organisation, Sherwyn joined Volv Global as one of two Well-being interns in the summer of 2023. Closely supervised by Otto, our Chief Well-being Officer, Sherwyn and his twin brother Leni make sure all members of our team enjoy a varied workday that includes the occasional moment of playtime to reduce the risk of RSI, getting a breath of fresh air to mull over a problem, or the simple comfort of their presence.
A Swiss citizen, Sherwyn resides in the Valais where, if he is not in the office, he likes to chase around in the snow and go on long hikes with his family. In his spare time, he does frequently hang out with his brother Leni and Otto too.
Volv Global collaborates with a network of dedicated experts and organizations who bring specialised knowledge and insights to enhance our mission.
We value our external team’s contribution in shaping innovative healthcare solutions, ensuring that people living with complex or rare diseases receive the best possible care and support.
